GREENER CLEANING

TO PROTECT US AND OUR WORLD

With financial support from the European Commission’s Life program, the Maclean project enables Safran Helicopter Engines to research and develop alternative techniques for cleaning engine parts during the repair process.

The Maclean project will minimize the impact on health and the environment by substantially reducing the quantity of chemicals used during aero-engine maintenance. Laser and/or cryogenic techniques will reduce the need for chemicals by at least 85%.

Maclean will also reduce water and energy consumption, eliminating the need to treat waste water. In addition, the completely automatic process replaces the current, part-manual operation and its attendant safety risk.
